Troy Alan Fields of Newark, Ohio, March 18, 1971 – October 3, 2013

A funeral service for Troy Alan Fields will be held Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at 10:30AM, at the Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home in Newark, with Pastor Wes Humble presiding. Interment will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery, Bethesda, Ohio.

 

    The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 6, 2013, from 6-8PM and on Monday from 1-4PM and 6-9PM, at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st Street. Police honors will be rendered by Shawnee Hills Police Department.  A Masonic service will be held Sunday at 7:45PM, at the funeral home.

 

    Mr. Fields, age 42, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2013, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. He was born March 18, 1971, in Wheeling, West Virginia, the son of Randy and Annie (Martin) Fields. He was a 1989 graduate of Newark High School, received his Associates Degree from C.O.T.C. and his Bachelor’s degree from Ohio University. Troy was the current Police Academy Commander at C.O.T.C. and an officer with the Shawnee Hills Police Department. He was a member of Mt. Zion Lodge, #9, F&AM, in Mt. Vernon.

 

    Troy is survived by his mother Annie (Dale Mitchell) Fields of Newark; children Ryan Alan Fields and Samantha Dozier; Troy’s fiancé, Sarah Harmon of Newark; his aunt Sandra (Ronnie) Saffield of Barnesville, OH; uncles Paul (Anita) Voytko Jr. of Byesville, Ohio and Timothy (Barb) Dudley of Pleasant City, Ohio; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends and acquaintances.

 

    Troy was preceded in death by his father Randy Fields; maternal grandparents Clarence and Lula (Adkins) Fields, formerly of Bethesda, OH and maternal grandparents Paul Voltko Sr. and Marion Dudley formerly of Byesville and an Aunt Patricia Fields formerly of Bethesda, OH.

 

    A memorial fund has been established at Chase National Bank for the benefit of Troy’s son Ryan and daughter Samantha.

 

    A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Reese Center on the campus of COTC/OSU in Newark.
