Wendy F. Wilson of Newark, Ohio, November 30, 1964 – April 26, 2017

Funeral services for Wendy Faye Wilson will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday, May 1, 2017 at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N 21st Street, Newark, with Pastor James Addy presiding.  Interment will follow at Smith Chapel Cemetery.  The family will receive friends and acquaintances 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, April 30th at the funeral home.

Wendy passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at the age of 52.  She was born November 30, 1964 in Newark, Ohio to parents Cecil M. and Betty A. (Pettibone) Wilson.  She was a 1983 graduate of Newark High School.  She was an employee at the Defense Finance & Accounting Services for 25 years in the I.T. Department.  Wendy was an extraordinary woman whose passion in life was her family, friends and the beach.  She as a loving daughter, sister, mother and doting grandmother.

Wendy is survived by her son Tyler (Andrea) Messina of Newark; grandson Parker Messina; parents Cecil M. and Betty Wilson of Newark; her sister Stacy Rice of Newark and niece Tiffany Rice of Canton, OH as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Wendy was preceded in death by her son, Nicholas Messina.

Mary T. Fancher of Heath, OH, November 5, 1937 – April 25, 2017

A graveside service for Mary Theresa Fancher will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Newark Memorial Gardens, 4244 Marion Rd, Newark, OH 43055. Family will greet friends from 11am-12:30 at Brucker Kishler Funeral Home, prior to the service, 985 N. 21st Street, Newark, OH 43055.

Mary, age 79, of Heath, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 surrounded by her family and friends at the Selma Markowitz Center. She was born on November 5, 1937 to the late Benjamin and Mildred (nee Adair) Mattison in Hobbs, New Mexico.

Mary loved spending time with her friends in Fort Clark Springs RV Park, Brackettville, TX. She also enjoyed crafts, trivia, Jeopardy, traveling, and chocolate. More than anything, Mary loved keeping in touch with her family.

Mary is survived by her sons, Michael (Daniela nee Fort) Fancher, of Merrimack, NH, Robert (Tammy nee Bartlett) Fancher, of Greenwood, AR, and Wesley (Cheryl nee Garrett) Fancher; grandchildren, Dan, Elise, Kayla (Mark) Smith, Josh, Mattison, Shelby, Kyle, Brittany, Courtnee, Michael (Elaine), and Amanda; great grandchildren, Tegan, Gavin, Clayton, and Lily; and sister, Marjorie (Buzz) Ramsey.

In addition to her parents, Mary is also preceded in death by her husband, Roy D. Fancher, and brothers, Frank, Melvin, and Ben.

The family would like to send special thanks to all the aids and nurses that took care of her over the years, they became her family and close friends.

Timothy J. Glassburn of Nashport, OH, April 1, 1967 – April 24, 2017

A funeral service for Timothy J. Glassburn will be held at 8pm on Friday, April 28, 2017 at Brucker Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st Street, Newark, OH 43055. Family will greet friends at the funeral home 2-4pm and 6-8pm prior to the service.

Timothy, age 50, of Newark, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2017 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville, after a long hard fight with lung cancer. He was born to the late Earl and Violet (Smith) Glassburn on April 1, 1967 in Newark, OH.

Timothy’s number one passion was dirt track racing. It was closely followed by hunting, camping, and fishing for salmon in Michigan. He never met a stranger and was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back.  

Timothy is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Terri (Holtz) Glassburn. He also leaves behind his children, Amy (Dustin) Adams, and Timothy (Katie Stagers) Glassburn; his beloved grandbabies, Lillian, Timothy, and Brody; sister, Ruth Cannon; brother, Dwayne Glassburn; several close cousins, aunts, and uncles; and many wonderful friends.

Timothy is preceded in death by his parents.

Rebecca Sue Roberts of Martinsburg, Ohio, August 24, 1946 – April 24, 2017

A Memorial Service for Rebecca Sue Roberts, 70, of Martinsburg, will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 4th, at Faith Baptist Church, 8764 Martinsburg Rd., Mt. Vernon, Ohio  43050.  Sue who passed away April 24, 2017, at Knox Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon.  She was born August 24, 1946, in Newark, to the late Forrest Guy and Ruth Pauline (Babcock) Berry.

 

Sue was a 1965 graduate of Union High School in Coshocton County.  She worked for Goodwill Industries and was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon.

 

She is survived by her daughter, Yvonne (Eric) Hankinson of Hopewell; son, Raymond Allen (Angela) Roberts of Johnstown, grandchildren, Zachery White, Carlee Hankinson, Zedechiah Roberts, and Logan Pierce; siblings, Jerry Wayne Berry of Johnstown, Charita Berry of Zanesville, Stanley (Belinda) Berry of Newark, Joyce Manns of Coshocton, Trudie Berry of CA, Kevin Berry of Fallsburg, and Brett (Karen) Berry of Newark, and thirteen nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Donald Forrest Berry and Mike Berry.

Robert R. Smith of Newark, OH, November 18, 1925 – April 20, 2017

A funeral service for Robert Revere Smith will be held at 11:30am on Monday, April 24, 2017 at First Baptist Church, 1000 Granville Road, Newark, OH. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Family will greet friends on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Brucker Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st Street, Newark, OH 43055 from 2-4pm and one hour prior to the service at the church.

 

Bob, age 91, of Newark, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at the Selma Markowitz Center. He was born on November 18, 1925 to the late Pearl and Thelma (Ferren) Smith in Byesville, OH.

 

Bob proudly served his country as a member of the Navy during WWII. He was an active member of First Baptist Church and a longtime member of the Elks, where he was a Past Exulted Ruler.

 

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Irene (Foster) Smith. He also leaves behind his daughter, Cathy (Jim) Cartner; grandchildren, Brady Cartner, Jennifer Felumlee, Mavis (Zeb) Mabry, and Marcy Smith; numerous nieces and nephews; and daughter-in-law, Pat Smith.

 

In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his son, Gary Smith and brother, Ed Smith.

Frederick “Wimp” Wilson of Newark, OH, September 7, 1926 – April 19, 2017

Frederick E. “Wimp” Wilson passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Flintridge Nursing Home. He was born on September 7, 1926 to the late Albert and Hazel (Delancey) Wilson in Newark, OH.

 

Fred worked for the railroad for over 28 years, and retired from the USPS after 20 years. He loved to be outside hunting or golfing or cheering on his favorite sports teams. Fred was a great father and a loving husband. More than anything, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his dog, Yogi.

 

Fred is survived by his sons, David B. (Judy) Wilson, and Bandy (Karen) Wilson; grandchildren, Amy, Sandy, and Brandon (Sara) Wilson; 6 great grandchildren; siblings, Frank Wilson and June Giblin.

 

In addition to his parents, Fred is preceded in death by his wife, Jennie (Moran) Wilson; siblings, George, Francis, Henry, David, Annie, Pee Wee, Geri, and Winnie.

Michael E. Stansell of Newark, Ohio, July 8, 1950 – April 13, 2017

A memorial service for Michael E. Stansell, 66, of Newark, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2017, at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with Pastor Don Ballard officiating.  Family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark.

Michael passed away April 13, 2017, at Licking Memorial Hospital.  He was born July 8, 1950, in Newark, to the late Samuel E. and Kathleen (Weston) Stansell.

Michael worked 28 years for the Department of Air Force.  He was a member of Newark Nazarene Church, where he enjoyed his men’s bible study.  He had many friends that were like brothers and sisters to him.

He is survived by his wife, Lorrie (Campbell) Stansell; daughters, Kelly (Debbie McInturf) Stansell of Newark and Sarah (Mark) Capitano of Heath; step-daughter, Kristin (Scott) Miller of WV; step-son, Joe (Rosalia) Ryan of IL; grandchildren, Sophie, Jake, Scarlett, and Gavin; brother-in-law, Doug Campbell, and several cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Cathy Stansell and step-son, Greg Ryan.

Helen L. Gaulke of Newark, Ohio , March 12, 1925 – April 16, 2017

A funeral service for Helen L. Gaulke, 92, of Newark, will be held at 11:00 a.m.  Friday at Faith United Methodist Church, 261 E. Main St. Newark, with Pastor Jeff Perry officiating.  Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.  Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark.
Helen passed away on Easter, April 16, 2017, at Thornville Health and Rehabilitation.   She was born March 12, 1925, in Columbus, to the late Fritz and Helen (Jaeger) Kreutz.
Helen was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Babushka Bible Study, Women of Faith, Alpha Pi Sigma since 1947, and Newark Maennerchor and Singers.  She was an avid card player, and cherished spending time with her family, friends and neighbors. 
She is survived by her children, Helen Williams of Heath, Anita (Randy) Stickle of Newark, Paul (Paula) Gaulke of Newark, and Caroline (Debbie) Gaulke of Maryland; siblings,  Lil (Jack) Woodworth of Pickerington, Fred (Gail) Kreutz of Lithopolis, and Donn Kreutz of Canal Winchester; grandchildren, Shawn (Nikki) Stickle, Amanda (Michael) Riker, Tim (Courtney) Williams, Melanie (Romel) Lira, Angelica Gaulke, and Alivia Gaulke; seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. 
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul K. Gaulke.

Randy E. Dusenberry of Newark, Ohio, January 23, 1959 – April 15, 2017

A Funeral Mass for Randy E. Dusenberry  will be held at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, 785 Newark-Granville Road, in Granville, on Friday, April 21, 2017, at 10:00am with  Monsignor Paul Enke, celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4pm-8pm, on Thursday, at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st Street in Newark. A Vigil Service will be held at 4:00PM, on Thursday, at the funeral home.

Randy, age 58, of Newark, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017, at the Selma Markowitz Hospice Center, surrounded by his family. He was born January 23, 1959, in Columbus, a son of the late Paul and Evelyn (Lowe) Dusenberry. A graduate of Lakewood High School and COTC, he was an administrator with the Ohio Department of Taxation in Columbus. Always a family man, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He had been the past president of the North Newark Little League and the Newark High School Football Parents Club. He coached Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball, NBBL basketball and was a football referee for 16 years. He was a member of St Edward Parish in Granville.

Left to cherish his legacy are his wife of nearly 37 years, Deborah (Gebhart) Dusenberry, whom he married on July 12, 1980; his children Douglas Dusenberry of Newark, Edward (Tess) Dusenberry of Etna, Amber Dusenberry of Newark; his granddaughter Sadie Dusenberry, his brother Bryan (Barb) Dusenberry; mother-in-law Maxine Gebhart; his brothers and sisters in law, Dick and Lisa Gebhart, Jim and Jeanne Gebhart, Dave and Theresa Gebhart, Ed and Colleen Gebhart, Dean and Shelia Fulk and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter Riley Grace Dusenberry, father-in-law Charles Gebhart; brother-in-law John Gebhart and sister-in-law Shelli Gebhart.

Suzanne Volz of Buckeye Lake, OH, March 14, 1954 – April 14, 2017

Suzanne Volz, age 71, of Buckeye Lake, passed away on April 14, 2017. Suzanne was born to the late Norman and Lucille (Dean) Edwards on March 14, 1946 in Columbus, OH.

 

Suzanne was an underwriter for Continental Insurance. She love cats and in her free time, enjoy watching NASCAR.

 

Suzanne is survived by her son, Jeffrey (Maria) Volz, of Buckeye Lake; grandson, Jeremy Volz; great grandchildren, Xavier “Fredrick” Volz and Adalynn Jean Volz; and brother, Charles (Sandra) Goldrick, of Port Orange, FL.

 

Family will hold private services at a later date.
