Helen M. Westbrook of Newark, OH, July 24, 1953 – April 8, 2017

A memorial service for Helen M. Regan Westbrook will be held at 7pm on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Brucker Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st Street, Newark, OH 43055. Family will greet friends from 4-7pm at the funeral home prior to the service.

Helen, age 63, of Newark, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 8, 2017 at her home. Helen was born on July 24, 1953 to the late Guy and Helen (Shriner) Regan, in Newark, OH.

She spent most of her life in Newark, and was a Cancer Survivor.

Helen is survived by her loving companion, Ray Anderson; daughters, Diane and Nickie Tice; sons, Joe Westbrook and JD Tice; sister, Diane (George) Johnson of Lancaster; brother, Jack Regan of Colorado; sister-in-law, Sandy Regan, who helped raise her along with Helen’s brother, Josie Regan; 10 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Helen is also preceded in death by her brothers, Josie, David, Guy, and Rick Regan, and Richard Holcomb; and son, Walter Lee Westbrook.

Josephine “Josie” Shepherd of Newark, Ohio, March 26, 1924 – April 10, 2017

Funeral services for Josephine C. “Josie” Shepherd will be held 1:00 P.M. Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N 21st Street, Newark.  Interment will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00P.M. Thursday.

Mrs. Shepherd, age 93, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2017 at Sharonbrooke where she had been a resident for the past five years.  She was born March 26, 1924 in Flemingsburg, Kentucky to parents George W. and Delilah (Peddicord) Arthurs.  She married husband Bryce Shepherd in 1956.  Josie worked many years at the former Newark Hospital in the nursery.  She also worked at Press Box Factor and many others jobs.  Josie was very active in the community and for The Knights of Pythias of whom she was a member. 

Josie is survived by her sons Harry A. (Kathy) Shepherd and Charles (Cheryl) Shepherd of Newark; four grandchildren Kandy (Jon) Bullman, Tracy (Sydney) Shepherd, Raine Alan and Ryan Shepherd; great grandchildren Jordan, Chase (Melissa), Cody (Sam), Gavin, Garrett, Calder, Zoe Ann and Blayne as well as great-great grandchildren Zyler, Stella and Vada.

In addition to her parents, her husband Bryce Shepherd, daughter Kathy Eliane and six siblings Hazel Hanners, Gladys Porter, Mae Greene, Margaret Arthurs, Virgie Horne and Raymond Arthur preceded Josie in death.
