Rickey G. Lyons of Newark, Ohio, March 3, 1966 – June 29, 2017

A Celebration of Life gathering for Rickey G. Lyons, 51, of Newark, will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday July 29, 2017, at the Eagles, 52 Forry St. Newark.  Rickey passed away June 29, 2017, at his daughter’s residence.  He was born March 3, 1966, in Newark, to Nelson Lyons and the late Nancy (LaCosse) Lyons. 

Rickey worked for D&R Body Shop in Columbus.  He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.  He enjoyed painting cars, hunting, fishing and being with his kids and grandkids. 

He is survived by his father, Nelson (Ghlee) Lyons of Newark; children, Brandi (Michael) Taft of Newark, Alyssa (James Hilleary) Lyons of Hanover and Clint Lyons of Mt. Vernon; grandchildren, Aubree and Anderson Taft both of Newark; brother, Kevin (Debbie Freeman) Lyons of Newark, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy (LaCosse) Lyons.

Carolyn Jean Heightshoe of Newark, Ohio, June 30, 1937 – June 30, 2017

Carolyn Jean Heightshoe, known as Jean to all, born June 30, 1937, to Arthur and Carol (Moore) Atchison in Cambridge, Ohio, passed away on her 80th birthday, June 30, 2017.  She was a 46 year resident of Newark, Ohio and a 30 year teacher in the Newark City School District. Jean will be missed by all she touched in her long life.
Jean is survived by her husband of 46 years, Harold Heightshoe; her daughter Cynthia, her son Todd; and grandchildren Jordan, Mikayla, Jessica and Nikki.
Family and friends may call from 2-4pm and 5-7pm, on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at the Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st Street in Newark. A funeral service will be held at 11am, on Thursday, at Second Presbyterian Church, 42 East Church Street in Newark.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Licking County Humane Society.
