Jack Wenger of Newark, Ohio, March 8, 1939 – October 30, 2017

Jack Wenger passed away peacefully Monday, October 30th, 2017 at his home in Newark, Ohio, surrounded by his family.
A lifetime resident of Ohio, Jack was a proud 55 year member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 189. During his time as a student, passionate tradesman, and mentor, he made many lifelong friends – especially those of the Automatic Temperature and Control Systems family.
Jack truly put his heart and soul into his work and loved his trade and his Union family. He was smart as a whip, a hard worker, a skilled craftsman, outdoorsman, collector, mushroom hunter, and gardener. He took pride in passing along his many skills and important life lessons to his family and was a kind and compassionate husband, father, brother, cousin, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. He brightened every single day with his ornery smile, contagious laugh, and notorious humor – which he carried with him until his last days.
Among of all of Jack’s ideas, inventions, and adventures, his proudest accomplishment was his family. Jack is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Eulalia Wenger; brothers Bob and Dick; sisters Phyllis, Doris, Francis, Pearl, Rose, and Josephine; his daughter Donna; his infant children Janet and Jack; and his grandson Keith. He is survived by his wife of 32+ years, Barbara and beloved dog Ginger; brother Don; sister Carol; children Jack and Joe (Julie), Mary (John), Laura (Scott), and Catherine (Monte); grandchildren Tonya (Doug), Dale (Lacie), Kevin, Ember, Michael (Ashley), Danielle, Heather, Brittney (Robert), Joe (Kendra), Grace, Noah, Eulalia and Anna; great grandchildren Sage, Truman, Karley, Kasen, Aubrey, Kiley, Mason, and Carter; and many, many incredible and supportive friends.
Family and friends may call Saturday from 3:00-5:00, Saturday, November 4, 2017, at Brucker Kishler Funeral Home at 985 N. 21st St., Newark, Ohio 43055, with funeral services immediately following, at 5pm. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted at the funeral home to help the family to cover expenses.
