Randy Alan Christian, 56, of Newark, died Friday, December 29, 2017 at the Selma Markowitz Hospice Center. He was born September 15, 1961 in Newark to Willard and Patty (Dolen) Christian.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Pamela Christian; daughter, Patty Ann Christian; two brothers, James (Rusty) and Brian (Patty Jo) Christian; brother-in-law, David (Saundra) Hewitt; sister-in-law, Penny (Terry) Hupp; his mother, Patty Jean Christian; mother-in-law, Mary (Frank Wright) Hewitt; aunt, Bernadine Inman; four nieces; eight nephews; five great nieces and five great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Willard Christian; father-in-law, Ralph Hewitt; brothers, Jack and Michael Christian; and great nephew, Haiden Wright.

Randy retired from a job that he loved after 31 ½ years of service at Licking County Highway Department. He enjoyed being outdoors; hunting, fishing, and especially trapping.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, P.O. Box 430, Newark, OH 43058.

Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 PM at the Brucker- Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark. The family has asked that everyone please dress casual because that’s the way Randy would have wanted to see you. The funeral service will be at the funeral home Friday at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow the service in Smith Chapel where full military honors will be presented.

Ernestine Elma May Lutman passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, December 28, 2017. She was born to the late Martha Ramsey on February 28, 1960 in Jefferson City, Missouri.

Ernestine, age 57, of St. Louisville, enjoyed quilting and raising her many birds.

She is survived by her loving husband of 21 years, Tom Lutman. She also leaves behind her son, Dustin (Tiffany) Thorpe; grandchildren, Brena, Kynadey, Promise, Aria, and Lennox; sisters, Jennifer (Jim) Wood and Hennrietta; and nephews, Scott, Jason, and Stephen Zublick.

In addition to her mother, Ernestine is preceded in death by her sister, Paula Brockensick.

In accordance with her wishes there will be no services at this time.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park, in Zanesville. Family and friends may call from 11am, until the 1pm service time on Saturday, at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st Street.
Judy, age, 78, of Newark, passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017, at the Selma Markowitz Hospice Center in Newark. She was born March 25, 1939, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late William Robert and Delores (Allen) Pearson. She was a Realtor for many years and a member of the Second Presbyterian Church in Newark. She was a talented quilter and made many items for her family and friends over the years.
She is survived by her children, Susan (Bob) Weiland, Steven Pearson Shaw, Becky Bridges (Jeff); her grandchildren, Abby Sheaffer (Gary), Derek Weiland, Dillon Ritter Shaw (Amanda), Kaylecia King (Garen), Kayloni Baldwin (Chandler Thornton), Michael Bridges, Jeremy Bridges (Christina), Christopher Bridges (Lora) and six great-grandchildren.

Marilyn graduated from Licking Valley High School and retired from LCCSEA. She attended Northside Baptist Church and enjoyed being around people, doing puzzles, and collecting lighthouses.

Marilyn is survived by her son, Eric Q. Richards; 3 brothers; 2 sisters; 1 aunt; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by 5 brothers.

In accordance with her wishes, Marilyn is to be cremated and her ashes laid to rest at Barnes Cemetery.

Mr. Nethers, age, 69, of Newark, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at the Selma Markowitz Hospice Center at LMH. He was born April 5, 1948, in Newark, a son of the late James Edwin and Mary Lauvice (Mink) Nethers. Mr. Nethers was employed at Licking Memorial Hospital in the Housekeeping Department and was a member of the Jacksontown United Methodist Church. He enjoyed traveling to Florida to see his family and visiting casinos and trying the slot machines.
He is survived by his sons, Vance E. Nethers of Newark, James M. Nethers (Stacey Kohl) of Massillon; daughter Dee Dee Johnson (Jeff Chisholm) of Navarre; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; his sister Mary Lucille “Lucy” (Don) Spears of Newark and Florida and his sister-in-law Beverly Nethers of Newark
and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, J. John Nethers and Larry L. Nethers.

Gisela E. Naumann- Parker, 88, of Newark, died Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Flint Ridge Health and Rehab Center. She was born August 18, 1929 in Germany to the late Herman and Emma Schneider.

Gisela retired from Sears after more than 30 years of service in the furniture sales department. She enjoyed reading and gardening.

She is survived by two sons, Mike Naumann and Steve (Missy) Naumann both of Newark; five grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Helmut Naumann; her second husband, Dr. Lawrence Parker; and three sisters.

Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 PM at the Brucker- Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st Street, Newark. The funeral service will be at the funeral home Saturday at 10:00 AM with Pastor Wally McLaughlin officiating. Burial will follow the service in Newark Memorial Gardens.

A funeral service for Melody Ann McLaughlin, 61, of Newark, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home.  Family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark.

Melody passed away December 26, 2017, at her residence.  She was born June 26, 1956, in Mt. Vernon, to Bonnie L. (Brobst) Sevastos and the late Robert L. Evans.

Melody was a hairdresser for 40 years, and worked for A.D.B. Manufacturing as an electrical engineer.  She enjoyed crafting and spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Jeffrey McLaughlin; son, James (Charity) Chenault of Newark; daughters, Cortney Chenault of Martinsburg, and Britney (Charles Decker, Jr.) McLaughlin of Newark; brother, Robert L. (Theresa) Evans, Jr. of Martinsburg; sister, Vicki (Bobby Pigg) Evans of Newark, and ten grandchildren.

Beth O. Furbee, 61, of Hebron, passed away at her home, December 25, 2017. She was born April 15, 1956 in Columbus to Don and Claribel (Kimball) Oman.

Beth worked as a nurse for Mt. Carmel Hospital for 40 years and will be deeply missed by her friends and family.

She is survived by her two loving children, Daniel and Elaina (Ryan); two step children, Jon (Helen) of Idaho and Connie (Richie) of Virginia; grandchildren, Zion Marie, Tammara, Sharon, Caleb, and Jacob; brother, Matt (Debbie) Oman; and numerous nieces and nephews.
