Michael H. Brandenburg of Newark, OH, September 27, 1964 – April 8, 2018

Michael H. Brandenburg, age 53, of Newark, passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2018. He was born on September 27, 1964 to Robert and Brenda (Morgan) Brandenburg in Columbus, OH.

Michael was a Sergeant for the Licking County Sheriff’s Department for almost 30 years. He was also a member of the Irville Masonic Lodge #184 F&AM in Nashport, OH. In his free time, Michael enjoyed science fiction in all its forms, as well as comic books and collecting G.I. Joe’s. More than anything, Michael loved his family.

In addition to his parents, Michael is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Myra (Now) Brandenburg; daughters, Rachel Brandenburg and Rebekah (Colin) Lennon; sisters, Lisa (Doug) Sullivan and Cheryl Brandenburg; brother, Rob Brandenburg; and sister-in-law, Laurie (Carl) Eichar.

Donna Jean Huggins of Heath, Ohio, November 10, 1928 – March 31, 2018

A funeral service for Donna Huggins, 89 of Heath, will be held at 10 am on Saturday, April 14, at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with Pastor Kristin Santiago officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, April 13, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark.
Donna passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018 in Naples, Fla. She was born on November 10, 1928 in Newark, to the late Kenneth Luby and Myrtle Shrider.
She married Charles Richard Huggins on September 16, 1946 in Newark, Ohio.  They enjoyed raising their family together and enjoyed many trips over the years to Naples Fla. They also enjoyed several WWII memorial trips together before her husbands death in 1993.
She truly loved God and family, and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and, a loving role model to many. She loved gardening, beach walks and shelling, boat rides and reading. She loved cooking and family meals and good conversation and music afterwards. She had such a delightful wit and sense of humor that was a gift to all who knew her. And, she had a gift of always making anyone feel they were welcome in her home. 
She is survived by her son, Mark Huggins (Jacki Mason) of Thornville, two daughters, Mrs. John (Dara) Logan of Newark and, Mrs. Barron (Dana) Collier of Naples Fla. Grandchildren, Caleb Logan, Barron and Katelyn Collier (Barron and Penelope), Alexandra Collier, Lara and Ryan Grady (Lana) and Christopher Collier.

Helen J. Gough of Heath, Ohio, January 12, 1921 – April 7, 2018

A funeral service for Helen J. Gough will be held at 1pm, on Friday, April 13, 2018, at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st Street, Newark, OH 43055. Pastor Jeff Belt will officiate. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m. & 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, at the funeral home.
Helen, age 97, of Heath, passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the Selma Markowitz Hospice Center. She was born on January 12, 1921, in Cleveland, to the late Frank and Anna (Kunecki) Janicki.
Helen graduated from John Hay High School where she was a cheerleader for 3 years and best known to her classmates as “pickles.” She was a long time member of Heath United Methodist Church where she formerly sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and belonged to the United Methodist Women’s Society.
Her family owned the Utica Cycle Shop, changing the name to Harry’s Cycle Center, and then to Jeff’s Motorcyle Speciality, as it passed to the next generation. She was a swim instructor for the first group of Red Cross instructors at the Newark pool and throughout greater Licking County. Helen was the past president of the Garden Clubs in Heath and Utica. In her free time, she volunteered at the Davis Shai House; played on a bowling league; was a former Brownies, Girl Scout and Cub Scout Leader; and member of the Deux Come class. Helen was an avid bridge player and never missed an opportunity to play a game.
Helen is survived by her children, Jeffrey Gough of Heath, Mary Ann (Fred) Miller of St. Petersburg, FL, Jane (Steven) Watts of Newark, and Bonny (Jamie) Hall of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren, Scott, Greg, Jill, Brad, and Andrea; 10 great grandchildren; her sister, Frances Gutta and was a beloved aunt to her many nieces and nephews, with whom she so enjoyed sending cards and greetings over the years.
In addition to her parents, Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Harry Gough; brother, Ralph Janicki; and sisters, Henrietta Holtz, and Christine Steiger.
