Hazel Beatrice Esworthy of Newark, November 26, 1928 – May 31, 2018

Hazel Beatrice (Perry) Esworthy was born November 26, 1928 to Frank Orison and Bertha (Andrews) Perry in Toboso, Ohio. Her half-brother was Forest Elsworth Perry.

She attended Toboso Elementary School, then graduated Valedictorian from Hanover/ Toboso High School in 1946. At Dayton University her major was Secretarial Science with a minor in History.

Calvin Lee Esworthy won her heart and they were married October 12, 1946.

Owens-Corning Fiberglass Technical Center in Granville employed her as an Executive Secretary in the Patent Liaison-Law department.

A 71-year member of the Christ United Methodist Church East Main/ Cedar, Newark where she taught the Youth Group.

Antique hunting was her passion, especially Heisey glassware as both parents had worked at the factory and an uncle, Jack Beela was a glassblower. Travel was also an enjoyment as she and her husband journeyed to Canada every summer and wintered in Florida.

She is survived by her husband, Calvin “Lee” Esworthy; daughter, Sheila (Esworthy) Spray; grandsons, Andrew (Bethany) Spray and Ryan (Carrie) Spray; great grandchildren, Brycn, Aidyn, Airyn, and Grayson; aunt Bertha (Ford) Grossenbacher; nieces, Barbara (Manny) Beltran, Vanessa (Monty Stalnaker, Melanee Simpson, Teresa Grossenbacher, Heidi Elliott; and nephews, David Esworthy and John Esworthy.

Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at the Brucker- Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark, where the funeral service will be Monday at 10:00 AM with Pastor Wilsonnia L. McLean officiating. Burial will follow the service in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Thelma “Marie” Randles of Newark, August 15, 1934 – May 30, 2018

Thelma “Marie” Randles, 83, of Newark, died Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at her home. She was born August 15, 1934 in Trinway, OH to the late Russell and Mildred(McGee) Cochran.

Marie enjoyed ceramics, traveling and camping with her family, and tending to her flower garden. She loved driving and running errands on her own feeling independent and care free. She had a caring heart and worked as a caregiver professionally and with her own family.

She is survived by two daughters, Candy (Ron) Baker and Tammy Randles both of Newark; one grandson, Lee Baker; brother, Ed (Nancy) Cochran of Zanesville; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Donald Lee Randles (4/12/18); and brother, Steven Cochran.

Sharon D. Martin of Newark, OH, November 13, 1946 – May 31, 2018

Sharon D. Martin, age 71, of Newark, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at her home. She was born on November 13, 1946 to the late William and Ruth (Duff) Athey in Newark, OH.

A funeral service will be held at 10am on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Church of God of Licking County, 2181 Riggs Rd, Newark, OH 43055 and will be officiated by Pastor Tony Bartlette. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Sharon is survived by her sons, Scott (Gina) Martin and Nathan Martin; 5 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; 6 brothers and 4 sisters.

In addition to her parents, Sharon is preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Donald Martin; son, Zonald Martin; and 1 brother.

Howard J Wilson, Jr of Heath, OH, April 19, 1928 – May 30, 2018

Howard J. Wilson, age 90, of Heath passed away on Wednesday, May 30th 2018 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center. He was born on April 19, 1928 in Apple Farm, WV to the late Howard and Olive “Ollie” (Bourne) Wilson.
Howard was a man of strong Christian faith, a founding member of Family of Faith Church and present member of Thornville Community Faith and Fellowship Church. Howard was an avid reader, an accomplished gun smith and life long colllector and trader of guns and knives. He was a proud member of the NRA and a 50 year supporter of the Billy Graham Evangalisic Association. Howard was always there for his children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Howard is survived by his children, Michael (Annita) Wilson, Stephen (Stephanie) Wilson, Daniel (Janice) Wilson, David (Karen) Wilson, and Becky (Duane) Akers; 11 grandchildren, 23 greatgrandchildren, many neices and nephews and special family friend and “adopted” son Al Craig . He also leaves behind his little pal Herky.
Waiting in heaven are his loving wife of 64 years, Rose Prosperi Wilson , his youngest son Joseph Warren Wilson , six brohers Van, Vernon, Leon, Buddy, Victor and Vance, five sisters, Maxine, Ruth, Zella, Irene and Leone.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Thornville Community Faith and Fellowship Church at 11 AM.

Barbara A. Foos of Newark, Ohio, October 22, 1927 – May 28, 2018

A graveside funeral service for Barbara A. Foos will be held at 11am, on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at South Lawn Cemetery, in Utica. Mrs. Foos, 90, of Newark, passed away Monday, May 28, 2018, at the Selma Markowitz Hospice Center in Newark. She was born October 22, 1927, in Utica, a daughter of the late Frank D. and Adlene F. (Hanes) Helphrey.

For many years, she and her late husband Bob were vendors at Country Bits & Pieces in Cambridge and had operated Bob’s Variety Store in Alexandria. She enjoyed shopping with her family and garage sales in particular and anything chocolate.

Surviving are her daughter Carol Copenhefer of Newark; her granddaughter Tara (Cory) Stare of Lewis Center; four great–grandchildren, Senni, Sari, Sabin and Saia Stare. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Foos on December 7, 2013.

Robert James Brenneman of Hebron, OH, June 7, 1938 – May 24, 2018

Robert James “Bob” Brenneman, 79, of Hebron, died Friday, May 24, 2018 peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.

He is survived by his wife, Cora Brenneman; daughter, Sharon Stroud of Hebron; son, Devin (Jessica) Brenneman of Zanesville; seven grandchildren, Brichelle, Tawney, Devin, Kaite, Dom, Ally, and Emma; and special family, Doris and Dawn.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Miriam Castle; and son-in-law, Paul Stroud.

Bob enjoyed being home, sitting in his chair and spoiling his grandchildren.

David Lee Simpson of Newark, Ohio, January 13, 1958 – May 27, 2018

Barbara L. Richards of Newark, OH, September 21, 1940 – May 24, 2018

It is with great sadness that the family of Barbara L. Richards announces her passing on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at the age of 77 years. Barbara was born September 21, 1940, in Harbor Beach, MI, the daughter of Leo and Gertrude Pedrotti. She was united in marriage to David A. Richards on August 17, 1957. He preceded her in death February 27, 1998. They were married for 43 blissful years.

Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, and playing bingo. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family. One of the greatest joys in her life were her grandchildren and spending time with them.

Barbara will be lovingly remembered by her 5 girls, Kim Richards, Tari Cline, Deanna Richards, Tammy Richards and Michele Richards (all of Newark), 4 grandchildren, Lisa (Richard) McGarrah, John (Charlotte) Wieber, Jordan (Rose) Cline, and Joseph Barrett, 5 great grandchildren, Aden, Beaumon, Morgan, Alex, and Eliza . Brother Norman Pedrotti, Sisters Marge (Hank) Janderwski , Rayna Capps, Debbie (Mike) Miller, Holly (Darell) Kecskes Sister-in-Law Barb Pedrotti, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, David A. Richards, her parents, Leo (Margaret) and Gertrude Pedrotte, father and mother in-law Alvin and Maxine Richards, brothers, Stephen and Jack Pedrotti, brother in law, Gregg Richards, sister in law, Sandy Pedrotti.

Alice “Faye” Loudermilk of Newark, OH, January 14, 1936 – May 23, 2018

Alice Virginia “Faye” Loudermilk, age 82, of Newark, soared to Heaven on Wednesday, May 23, 2018.  She passed away peacefully in the home she and her husband built, surrounded by family and pictures of loved ones.  She has been reunited with the love of her life, Fred Loudermilk.  Faye was born to the late Edward and Dora (Lowe) Dalton in Marfrance, West Virginia on January 14, 1936.

Faye was a spunky, sassy and outspoken woman that loved a good party, whether it be Artex, Tupperware or Home Interior.  She enjoyed spending time with friends and family.  Faye took many trips to West Virginia throughout the years and many Friday nights were spent playing cards with her children.  In her spare time, nothing made her happier than cooking and baking.  Her most requested dishes were peanut butter fudge, pies, cakes and biscuits and gravy.   She shared her talents with many students as she retired from Marriott Food Services at Denison University at the age of 74.  After retirement, she enjoyed working in her animal garden, planting flowers and watching NCIS.

Faye is survived by her three daughters, Martha (Jan Jago) Phillips, Thelma (Don) Smith, and Tina (Joe) Fulk; 7 grandchildren, Beverly (James Held) Cook, Matthew (Cristina Miller) Lanham, Abagail (Alie Knopf) Roberts, Susannah (Todd) Bowen, Annie (T.J.) Cozzens, Joseph (Stephanie) Fulk, Jr, and Zachary (Becca Weyer) Fulk; 8 great grandchildren, Dakota, Jenna, Madison, Dylin, Hunter, Freddie, Bentley, and Ripley; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Faye was seen by many as a second mother and her home was always open to loved ones.  She had a huge heart that was filled with love and affection.

In addition to her parents, Faye is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Fred Loudermilk, four brothers and two sisters. She is also preceded in death my several nieces, nephews and friends.

Family will greet friends from 4-8pm on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Brucker Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st Street, Newark, OH 43055.  A funeral service will take place at 1pm on Wednesday, May 30, 2018.  Services will be officiated by Pastor Dave Mason and burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Granville.

Virginia “Ginny” Catherine Shepherd of Heath, February 10, 1928 – May 24, 2018

Virginia Catherine “Ginny” Shepherd, 90, of Heath, died Thursday, May 24, 2018 at her home. She was born February 10, 1928 in Newark to the late Harry and Violet (Burt) Colling.

Ginny enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play baseball and never missed a game. She was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes.

She is survived by two daughters, Carol Dianne (James W.) Calhoun and Janet Louise (Charles E.) Barnum; two sons, James Paul (Leinda) Shepherd and Bruce Duane (Jennifer Ludwig) Shepherd; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul L. Shepherd (2011) and son, Roger A. Shepherd.
