James Franklin Umbaugh
A private service was held for James Franklin Umbaugh, 84, of Granville, who passed away April 26, 2018, at the Kobacker House in Columbus. He was born March 8, 1934, in Mt. Vernon, to the late Frederick L. and Bertha Mae (Smith) Umbaugh.
James was owner of Umbaugh’s auto glass body shop. He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association. He built and flew airplanes and loved his dog Polo.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Jean (Thompson) Umbaugh; daughters, Pamela (Michael) Walters of Granville and Karen (John) Frazier of Newark; grandchildren, Aimee (Brian) Fahey of Westerville, Michael (Ashley) Walters of Newark, Kimberly (Tino Miceli) Frazier of Newark, and Jonathon Frazier of Newark; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Kaitlyn, and Caleb Fahey all of Westerville and Wyatt Miceli of Newark, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
