Kenneth Eugene Moomaw of Newark, Ohio, April 1, 1944 – June 7, 2018

A graveside funeral service for Kenneth Eugene Moomaw will be held at 1pm, on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Veterans Section in Newark. The Licking County Veterans Alliance will conduct Military Funeral Honors. Family and friends may call from 11am until 12:30pm, on Tuesday, at the Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st Street.
Kenneth, age 74, of Newark, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018, at the Selma Markowitz Hospice Center. He was born April 1, 1944, in Newark, a son of the late Thomas Everett and Margaret Ethel (Warman) Moomaw. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in country, as a Sergeant in the US Marine Corps. For 31 years, he worked at Owens Corning Fiberglas in Newark. He had been a member of the Madison Township Fire Department, Licking County Civil Defense and the American Red Cross.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Susan (Redman) Moomaw; children, Patricia R. Moomaw (Michael S. Moran); Thomas L. Moomaw, Teresa (Moomaw) Lamb; grandchildren, Laci D. Moomaw, Austin M. Moran (Emily M. Puckett) Moran, Kayla Moran, Deziree M. Wickliff and Hailey D. Wickliff; one great-grandchild, Kyra Moran; two sisters, Kate Adams and Doris Moore and his brother Thomas E. Moomaw, II and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters, Mildred Moomaw, Edna Trimble, Nellie Seigler, Dorothy Euman and Margaret Neighbarger and his brother Donald L. Moomaw.

Nathaniel James Gard of Newark, Ohio, March 4, 2013 – June 6, 2018

A funeral service for Nathaniel James Gard, 5, of Newark, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, at First United Methodist Church, 88 N. 5th St., Newark with Pastors Bruce Dickerson of FUMC and Mark Katrick of St. John’s UCC officiating. A private burial to be held in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Nathaniel died June 6, 2018 at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. He was born March 4, 2013, in Newark, OH to Robert L. Collier II and Leah C. Gard.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brothers and sisters; Katie Gard, Chase Smith, Ethan Gard, Christina Tobias, Tray Collier, Alexis Collier; maternal grandparents John S. and Elaine (Kopke) Gard, paternal grandparents Pamela K. Conner and Robert L. Collier; aunts Rachel E. Gard, Amanda Seals, Crystal Hutchison, Heather J. Fox, Val Mockus; uncle Gary Mockus; great-aunt Patty Underwood; great uncle Sherman Puryear; great-aunt Mona Puryear.

Nathaniel was an active little boy who positively touched the lives of all he met.  He always had a contagious smile.  He loved for his Grandpa to hold him up so he could dunk basketballs.  He and brother Ethan were very attached to each other – best buddies.  He will be greatly missed.
