John D. Kurtz of Newark, Ohio, April 1, 1937 – March 10, 2018

A memorial service for John D. Kurtz, 81, of Newark, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with Pastor Ed Fugate officiating.  Military Honors will be conducted by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.   Family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark, where a Druids service will begin at 12:45 p.m.

John passed away March 10, 2019, at Licking Memorial Hospital.  He was born April 1, 1937, in Whitewater, Wisconsin, to the late John and Florence (Wolfe) Kurtz.

John was an Army Veteran during the Korean War. He retired after 32 years from Owens Corning Fiberglass. He was a member of the Newark Druids, Buckeye Lake AMVETS, and the Zanesville American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Leatrice J. (Taylor) Kurtz; son, J.T. Kurtz; brothers, Joe (Patsy Kurtz and Jim (Diane) Kurtz; step-children, Theresa (Allen) Todd, Angela (Jeff) Bowen, Cindy (Andy) Morrow, and Tommy (Premey) Joyner; grandson, Troy Kurtz; nine step-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Carrie Kurtz, and step-daughter, Kim Higgins.

June D. Daniels of Newark, OH, September 4, 1924 – March 9, 2019

June W. Daniels, age 94, of Newark, OH, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2019. She was born on September 4, 1924 to the late Henry and Edith Dyker in Granville, OH.

June was a member of the Newark Garden Club and volunteered at Licking Memorial Hospital as a member of TWIGG. In her free time, she enjoyed painting, sewing, knitting, and gardening.

June is survived by her children, Jeffrey Daniels and Vicki (Patrick) Elgin.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Kenneth Daniels and brother, Henry Dyker.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Bennington Glen and Capital City Hospice. Both provided compassionate and loving care to June.

Marjorie Ann Kussick Cline of Newark, Ohio, September 11, 1934 – March 10, 2019

A funeral service for Marjorie Ann Kussick Cline will be held at 11am, on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at the Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home in Newark. Pastor Jeff Belt will officiate. Burial will follow in Wilson Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 10am, until the 11am service time at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st Street.
Mrs. Cline, 84, of Heath, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019, at the Selma Markowitz Hospice Center. She was born September 11, 1934, in Newark, a daughter of the late Gail E. and Mark K. (Geidenberger) Patrick. She was a member of the Heath United Methodist Church, the Oinettes, Order of the Eastern Star, the Heath Seniors, the D.A. R. and the Bongo group. Mrs. Cline enjoyed working and caring for her flowers gardens, was an avid reader and enjoyed playing cards with family and friends.
Surviving are her husband Thomas E. Cline, whom she married on October 25, 1994; her daughters, Brenda Jo Goldsmith (Ernie), Robin Lea Bevard (Mike), step-daughters, Lesha Boardman (Thomas) and Candace Minarchin (Daniel); nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren and her sister Patricia Gilbert.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph H. Kussick.
