Shirley Ann Robinson of Zanesville, January 7, 1936 – August 28, 2019

Shirley Ann Robinson, 83, of Zanesville, formerly of Newark, died Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at her home. She was born January 7, 1936 in Newark to the late Roy and Madeline (Turner) Neighbor.

Shirley attended Church of God and Saints of Christ Church in Zanesville. She enjoyed playing computer games, reading, word search puzzles, and taking car rides. She never met a stranger and loved giving. She was always willing to give anything she had to help someone out. She even tried tipping her bank teller.

She is survived by one daughter, Roishell Cooper (Bob) of Zanesville; seven grandchildren, Jessica, Meriah, Larissa, Sean, Felicia, Bobby, and J.D; 22 great grandchildren, and special friends, Mary Cooper, Sara Cole, and many others.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Eugene Robinson Sr; daughter, Robin Elaine Collins; son, Robert Eugene Robinson Jr.; two brothers, Harold Dial and Donald Neighbor; seven sisters, Norma June Osborn, Jeannine Carol Smith, Lola Morgan, Betty Lee, Ilene Blimm, Mary Offenberger, and Jacqueline Grace Miller.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family via Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark, OH 43055.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 PM at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home where the funeral service will be Wednesday at 1:00 PM with Elder Nathaniel Norris officiating. Burial will follow the service in Newark Memorial Gardens.

Jason Lee Lallathin of Newark, Ohio, June 4, 1972 – August 22, 2019

Jason Lee Lallathin, 47, of Newark, passed away August 22, 2019, at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville.  He was born June 4, 1972, in Newark, to Gary Lee Lallathin and the late Janine A. (Smith) Lallathin.

Jason was an adventurous man; he wasn’t afraid of much.  His favorite pastimes were all things nature, fishing, and being a collector of many things.  He will always be loved and greatly missed.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Shane M. Lallathin. 

He is survived by his father, Gary Lee (Jacqueline) Lallathin; brothers, Shawn (Leatha Davis) Lallathin and Shannon (Mindy) Lallathin; nieces, Brittany, Serenity, and Lana Lallathin; step-brother, Danny (Heidi) Mullins, and step-sister, Tracy (Gene) Sabo and their families, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

To honor Jason’s wishes he will be cremated.  A private family gathering will be held at a later date.

Hazel L. Williams of Newark, OH, July 22, 1930 – August 23, 2019

Hazel L. Williams, age 89, of Newark, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 23, 2019. She was born on July 22, 1930 to the late Urban and Lottie (Weir) Gregorcyk in Bluntzer, TX.

Hazel will be laid to rest at Newark Memorial Gardens. There will be no public services.

Hazel proudly raised 6 children. She enjoyed feeding and watching the birds from her porch and playing cards and dominos with her family. Hazel also made the best apple tarts. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Donald (Cinda) Williams, John (Gloria) Williams, Sharon Williams-Anderson, Debbie (Bob) Rubeck, David E. (Suzie) Williams II, and Janice (Philip) Bourizk; 15 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; 1 brother and 3 sisters in Texas; domino opponent, Beth Ann Keller; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. 

In addition to her parents, Hazel is preceded in death by her husband, David E. “Tex” Williams, 2 sisters, 1 brother, and 1 grandson.

Brenda Jean Howard of Newark, OH, November 1, 1943 – August 22, 2019

Brenda Jean Howard, 75, of Newark, died Thursday, August 22, 2019 at the Selma Markowitz Hospice Center. She was born November 1, 1943 in Morgantown, WV.

Brenda had a loving and kind heart. She enjoyed drinking her Pepsi, being around her cats, making crafts and ceramics, and watching T.V. She was a hard worker and adored her son.

She is survived by three children, Todd Eismon (Tonya), Robyn Slocum, and Wednesday Pharis; 11 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and sister, Carolyn Dowie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Wade Eismon; and two grandchildren, Tyra and T.J McManis.

No funeral services will be held at this time.

Florence Lenora Noblick of Newark, OH, March 10, 1923 – August 22, 2019

Florence L. Noblick, age 96, of Newark, went to her eternal home on Thursday, August 22, 2019 from the Inn Chapel Grove, where she had been a resident for over 8 years. She was the oldest daughter of the late Desler and Effie (Monroe) Evans, born on March 10, 1923 in Newark, OH.

She was a lifelong resident of Newark, and married John H. Noblick in 1944. They were married 55 years before his passing in 1999. Florence attended Christian Endeavor United Methodist Church most of her life and helped to start a summer picnic for the local nursing homes. Later she became a charter member of Alive Vineyard. She loved volunteering at Newark Health Care, attending bible study groups, Aglow meetings, and leading prayer chains. Her hobbies included crocheting lap robes for nursing homes, balancing her checkbook, and reading Christian romance novels.

A celebration of Florence’s memory will be held at 11am on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at Brucker Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st Street, Newark, OH 43055. Pastor Steve Osborne will be officiating, and she will be laid to rest at Wilson Cemetery following the service. Family will greet friends from 4-7pm on Monday, August 26, 2019 at the funeral home and from 10-11am on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 prior to the service.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Linda (Terry) Priest of Corning; sons, Larry (Antonieta) Noblick, of Miami, FL and John (Charlene) Noblick of Newark; 7 grandchildren, Matthew (Paula) Priest of Dayton, Timothy (Carrie) Priest of Dayton, Jennifer (Steve) Large, Jordon (Jessica) Noblick, Paulette Muncy, and Ryan Muncy all of Newark, and Daniela Noblick of Miami, FL; 6 great grandchildren, Ashley and Caitlyn Priest, Ashton Kirk, Amy and Luke Priest, and Ella Large; sisters, Betty Schaller Gunnerson, and Nancy Keeran; brother, George Evans.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Florence is preceded in death by her brother, Jack Evans.

The family would like to give special thanks to The Inn at Chapel Grove and Vitas Hospice for their compassionate and devoted care.

Bernese “Bea” I. Friend of Newark, November 28, 1925 – August 21, 2019

Bernese “Bea” I. Friend, 93, of Newark, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at SharonBrooke Assisted Living. She was born November 28, 1925 in Pleasantville, OH to the late Harold and Florence (Shumaker) Miller.

Bea attended Pleasantville High School. She was a member of Neal Ave. United Methodist Church where she was head of the kitchen committee and active in Young at Heart. She was a very active member of the United Methodist Women’s Group and a member of the Eastern Star, Parthenia Chapter #124 OES for 50 years. Bea was a faithful OSU football and basketball fan. She was an avid reader, camper and enjoyed Western Square dancing with her husband.

She is survived by one son, Jeff Friend (Bev) of Grove City; two daughters, Susan Eagle (Kenny) of Newark and Julie Kees (Bobby) of Kirkersville; two grandchildren, Michael (Brenda) Smith and Mitchell Smith; several great grandchildren; one brother, Pearl Miller (Monna) of Lancaster; and special friend and caretaker, Gina Woodyard.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John William “Bill” Friend (1982); and one brother, Bill Miller.

Danial J. Olney of McConnelsville, Ohio, February 20, 1953 – August 20, 2019

Danial J. Olney, 66, of Stockport, formerly of Newark, passed away on Tues. Aug. 20, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his family and his loving dog Angel. He was born on Feb. 20, 1953 in Marietta to the late Clifford and Mary Fulton Olney. He retired from Boeing Aeronautical in Heath. He attended the North Side Church of Christ in Newark and was a member of the Newark Eagles #387. He is survived by his daughter, Danielle (Keith) Stillman of Stockport, a step-son, Jamie Molden of Ft. Wayne, a brother, David (Linda) Olney of Troy, 6 grandchildren, Zach, Bailey, Riley, Sidney, Kaitlin and Taylor, and a great granddaughter, Annabelle. He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Constance Friend Olney. A visitation will be held on Friday, Aug. 23, 2019 from 5-7 P.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville. Funeral services will be held on Sat. Aug. 24 at 2:00 P.M. at the Brucker & Kishler Funeral Home on 21st Street in Newark with a visitation 1 hour prior to the services. Burial will follow in the Wilson Cemetery. 

Ulysses Ellsworth Perry of Newark, November 15, 1926 – August 16, 2019

Ulysses Ellsworth Perry, 82, of Newark, died Friday, August 16, 2019 at his home. He was born November 15, 1936 in Portsmouth to the late Waynard and Wilma Jane (Walker) Perry.

Ulysses was a Jack-of-all-trades. He could do anything from gardening to working on cars. He was an avid reader and enjoyed watching NASCAR.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Carol Perry; children, Patricia Perry and Wayne Perry (Kimberly Labare); step children, Kimberly Loper, Terri Loper, Zane Chandler and Roberta Chandler; grandchildren, Kathrine Perry, Billy McCall, Landon Rake, Jody McCall (Kandis), Carmen Butts, Robert Bragg, Rian Reece, and Raelyn Reece; numerous great grandchildren; and one great- great granddaughter; four sisters, Deb, Mary, Laura, and Pauline; and two brothers, Sam and Russ.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Sadie Perry; and four sisters, Barb, Reva, Jan, and Lilly.

No funeral services will be held.

Sylvia Marie Stradley of Newark, September 14, 1946 – August 16, 2019

A funeral service for Sylvia M. Stradley, 72, of Newark, will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at 12:00 pm at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  Family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, prior to the service at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st St. Newark.

Sylvia passed away Friday, August 16, 2019, at Tuscany Gardens in Pataskala.  She was born September 14, 1946, in Newark, to the late Everett and Betty (Green) Meadows. 

A loving mother and grandmother, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends especially her great-grandchildren.  Sylvia was a wonderful cook and loved watching the birds and critters outside her home.  She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.  Sylvia will be greatly missed by all. 

She is survived by her daughters, Nikki (Mike) Ballinger of St. Louisville and Shannon (Joe) Henry of Newark; sister, Mary (Larry) Lloyd of Alexandria; brothers, Mike (Vicki) Meadows of Heath and Tim (Linda) Meadows of Newark; grandchildren, Cody (Caitlin) Ballinger, Emily (Dave) Proffit, Abbey (Scott) Vierstra, Tiffany (Drew) Gordon, Taylor (Sherman) Gordon, Whitney (Kyler) Gordon, and Kaelyn Henry; eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins, and many special friends especially Sue Weiland.

In addition to her parents, Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, David H. Stradley.
